Stephanie Romney was their special guest speaker and she spoke to them on not giving up on your talents.
She talked about how it takes lots and lots of practice to be able to play the piano, and dedication to develop our talents. We are blessed with talents but it is up to us to develop and use those talents. She shared her life of learning first from her Grandma, then another harder and meaner teacher, then on to an organ instructor. She loves to play and she still practices every day. Then they had fun swimming at Metzie's!

The Blog book is a gift I want to give all the girls when they go into YW. Cami is the first in only a month. I have to adjust the back cover but everything else was perfect! It is so cute! It is something the girls will always treasure!

On Oct. 12th the girls had fun making cool oreo spiders for BOO plates. It was Cassie's first time in the older group she was excited.

The 8 and 9 year olds learned about the Holy Ghost. They spoke about the emotions you can have and also have the Holy Ghost.

Stake Activity Day!

The Stake Activity Day was so much fun! The theme was FROG-Fully Rely On God! They did a dance to YMCA and did FROG. They had a slide show with pictures. They also did a FHE on the First Vision. They made flowers for cancer patients. They also made frog prayer rocks and kaleidoscopes. The leaders sewed these cute bags for them too-WOW!

Tuesday August 3rd the 8-9 year old group met and made yummy caramel popcorn. They spoke about serving others and the good Samaritan. Then they were suppose to give popcorn to someone as a gift. They had fun!

The girls celebrated Father's Day with their father's at a swim party. They had a blast. The Dad's even jumped off the high dive! Thanks Carol for taking pictures!!

On May 18th the girls went to the Mesa Cemetary and cleaned the gravestones for Memorial Day. They cleaned some of Metzie's relatives. The girls also helped clean Cassie's great grandparents Ralph Veldon Naylor and Reva Naylor. Grandpa served in WWII as a spy and worked by Hitler.

On Sat. May 15th Julie invited the Mom's to come also. She talked about putting on the Armor of God. So we made the princess Armor of God. The girls made masks, necklaces, rings, and purses. She made these cute flower cupcakes for us-Thanks Julie!

I was released from Activity Days and will miss all of you sweet girls. I had so much fun while I was serving in this calling! We will see what changes will come. We might be splitting into 2 groups. I hope we can keep the blog for the girls memories books when they go into Young Womens!

December 8th Mesa, AZ Temple Trip!

We went to the Mesa Temple Visitor Center and watched the Luke II video on the Savior's birth. Then we looked around and saw the amazing nativity sets from different countries. The girls received their Christmas present from us which was the Article of Faith keys which we will be memorizing this next year. We will be spliting up into 2 different groups next year since there are more girls coming in. We will miss seeing all the amazing girls! What a good bunch of girls!!!

We learned or practiced our talent on making crafts. We made an advent nativity calender. There were a lot of pieces and the girls did an awesome job! We were so proud of them. We read the First Presidency's message in the December Friend which spoke on the true meaning of Christmas which is the Savior's birth!!! I hope we will always remember that during our holiday season!!

Yummy Sundaes!

We had an object lesson on keeping the Sabbath Day Holy. We used real sundaes and said that if we put yucky items on the ice cream it is like doing bad things on Sundays. We of course ate good Sundaes! The girls made cute Sunday boxes with strips of paper in them which gave ideas on things they can do on Sundays. The girls are suppose to pull out strips on Sundays and do them to help them keep the Sabbath Day holy.

This class taught by Jennifer and Brian Wheeler was on the Family Proclamation and they received a huge sticker of it to put in their scriptures.

We had fun making flip flops for charity. Holly and Tia tied some by themselves! Thanks Becca for coming and helping Holly!

The modesty class:)

I will not mention his name but he showed the girls how to cross their legs while another priesthood holder spoke on modesty. They did a great job and had an awesome song and slide show. They wanted the girls to hear what the guys think about modesty.

We had an awesome and spiritual time at the Stake Activity Day. They made the girls treasure boxes with the temple picture on front. Then as they went to the 5 classes they got a jewel bead and then at the end they made these cute bracelets. As you look through the pictures I will explain the fun classes.

The Family Proclamation!

We had fun talking about serving within our homes and decorating the mats around the Family Proclamation. The girls did a great job with dried flowers done by Sister Smith. We then put them in nice frames which they can use for the rest of their lives. My sister Tiffany was visiting from BYU and helped the girls. In primary this year the children are memorizing the proclamation and so Mom's help your girls. We missed you Alison, Tia, and Holly!

Today at activity day we had a fun and spiritual time learning how to serve others. Each girl received a pencil to give to a new friend at school. The girls loved making service towels that Metzie embroidered with todays date. We missed you-Jessica, Holly, Bailee, and Jaelynn.

The Stake Pioneer Day Celebration!

Our 2nd activity for activity day in July was the Stake Pioneer Day celebration which my girls had fun at thanks to Carol and Metzie for watching them because I was sick. Another thanks to Carol for taking these pictures. The girls made our ward sign with Metzie and they marched in the parade. They had breakfast, a 3 legged race and had fun playing the stick pulling game. They saw a real horse with Brigham Young on it and the stake had a band. They also had fun crafts.

Mother's Day Tea Party!

For Mother's Day activity day had a tea party. It was before we switched leaders. It looks like everyone had fun modeling their dresses and hats they made. Cami, Cassie and I were sad we couldn't make it because we were at our reunion beach trip. I received the disc of pictures and thought you would all love to copy them on your computers. Thanks to Sister Smith, Sister McFarland and Sister Raine for making activity day so much fun for many years!

On Monday July 6th, 2009 we decorated a ward banner. We will be using it in the parade for our stake Pioneer Day celebration. We had a lesson on being modest and also celebrated Tia and Rebekah's birthdays. Bethany also has a July birthday but she couldn't be at the swim party. It was Rebekah's last Activity Day because she is turning 12 this month and going into YW. We will miss you but you are going to love YWs. We also signed a poster for Bishop Chiles's birthday which was the 7th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BISHOP! We had a blast at Metzie's pool! But we missed alot of you girls who were on vacation.
